Homeschool Day: Trailblazing Women of Oakland
Homeschool families are invited to celebrate Women’s History Month at Oakland Cemetery with a full day of programming to honor the historic women who helped build Atlanta, and celebrate contemporary women who are still shaping the world today.
From an interactive tour celebrating the contributions of the women who shaped Atlanta and an epitaph-writing workshop around female icons to theater seminar on the Atlanta Washerwomen Strike and learning about perpetual care effort of women's civic groups with Oakland's Preservation team, homeschool students will learn through a variety of interactive educational activities.
Explore history, art, and nature in a unique learning environment at Oakland! Homeschool Day programs offer students the opportunity to engage with one of Atlanta’s most historic landmarks through interactive, hands-on activities based on a different theme each month. Programs are age-appropriate, and educational activities correspond to Georgia Performance Standards
