Sloths Summer Night at the Tar Pits
Hurry on over to the Tar Pits for a sloth-ful event!
Slothfully inclined guests can bring a blanket to enjoy a sunset picnic at the park, and explore the La Brea Tar Pits Museum after hours with free admission from 5pm to 8pm.
A special guest is on hand for the event: a living tree sloth friend from the Wildlife Learning Center.
Guests can take a tour of the La Brea Tar Pits Mobile Museum and interact with the mega fauna bone maps, immerse themselves through Augmented Reality with AR code posters, and touch a real ground sloth fossil.
Other highlights of the event include live DJ sets, a chance to meet scientists from La Brea Tar Pits and the Mammalogy Department, Museum educator pop-up presentations, a special appearance by Performing Arts Puppets, and an Excavator Tour.
Tasty bites are available for purchase from local food trucks; the Tar Bar serves up cold beverages for those over 21.
Space is limited. Reserve tickets online.
