Chickenshed NYC is a no audition inclusive children and youth theatre and performance company that enriches the lives of young people within the nurturing environment of a theatrical community.  All of its programming includes an element of science in the belief that art and science are not only compatible fields but can and do enhance each other. Chickenshed workshops are unique because they create an inclusive community where the individual is celebrated offeing a unique approach that develops performing arts skills while nurturing important life skills.

Programs include: Adventures from The Shed, interactive musical performances featuring singing, dancing, puppetry and storytelling for 2-5 year olds and their grown-ups; My Little Adventure, a preschool program for 3-5 year olds in which children create their own adventure through songs, puppetry and dramatic play and Chickenshed Players for 5-17+ year olds where with the support from a team of theatre practitioners Player groups are youth led and youth guided to ensure that the creative expression of all individuals is heard loud and clear. Chickenshed Players provides young people the space to collaboratively develop and communicate their stories and lived experiences through the medium of theatre.

Chickenshed NYC is the program of the American Friends of Chicken Shed Inc., a US charitable 501 (c)(3) organization. Financial assistance and payment plans are available upon application.
