Doo Dah Parade
The eccentric Doo Dah Parade treats onlookers to all that is quirkiest in Pasadena—and a high-ranking item from our 100 Things To Do with LA Kids list.
America's favorite "other parade" is known for its colorful and irreverent satirical spin on the Rose Parade. Note that the event is definitely off-beat. It's all in good fun and is generally a kid-friendly event, but some participants could appear a little more risqué than in a traditional parade.
The raucous morning includes homemade conveyances, art cars, mutant vehicles, living room furniture, eccentric marching bands, rockin' bands, performance artists, cornballs, show-stoppers, hoofers or crooners, pundits, anachronists, believers or nonbelievers, fantasists, surrealists, Dadaists, space travelers, time travelers, and absurdists.
The parade route begins at Raymond Ave and Holly Street, continues south 2 blocks, takes a right onto Colorado Boulevard then ends at Pasadena Avenue.
Kickoff is at 11am, but spectators are encouraged to arrive early to grab a good spot.
Event is rain or shine.
