Fractal curves are beautifully complex structures created by repeatedly applying a simple rule. One of the most famous fractal curves is called the “Heighway dragon,” because its shape ends up looking a lot like a dragon! Math hobbyist, artist, and entrepreneur Robert Fathauer demonstrates how to make your own dragon curve simply by folding a strip of paper. Then, join in a collaborative construction by combining everyone’s curves into an even bigger dragon.
