Academy Museum of Motion Pictures
On Friday afternoons in February, Academy Museum educators screen short videos that highlight the contributions of iconic Black figures in American history, such as Josephine Baker, Diahann Carroll, Dorothy Dandridge, Sammy Davis Jr., Lena Horne, Curtis Mayfield, Hazel Scott, Coretta Scott King, and Frederick Douglass.
These entertaining videos, created by legendary producer-director Neema Barnette and filmmaker Reed R. McCants, are designed to educate viewers about the contributions of Black people in American history, .
These public interactive experiences are held in the Netflix Lounge from 1pm to 3pm.
All are welcome. Free with admission.
