Miller Theater Pop-Up Concert: Piano + 1
These free and fun pop-up concerts provide the perfect opportunity to get up close and personal with today’s most exciting new music. Sit onstage and mingle with the musicians and fellow concertgoers after the show.
For the final Pop-Up of the season, experience the world premiere of three Miller-commissioned works for “Piano + 1” by composers Ann Cleare, Wang Lu, and Miguel Zenón. The pieces are the culmination of the third season of Miller’s much-praised reality podcast, Mission: Commission, which helps demystify the process of how classical music gets made.
PROGRAM
Ann Cleare: new work for two pianos (2023) world premiere
Wang Lu: new work for piano and percussion (2023) world premiere
Miguel Zenón: new work for guitar and piano (2023) world premiere
