Author and illustrator Emily Hughes reads from her new children’s book, The Snail, which revolves around Isamu Noguchi’s lifelong struggle for belonging between two different cultures in the United States and Japan.

After the reading, kids spend time talking about Noguchi’s Akari light sculptures, and Noguchi educators lead a paper art-making activity inspired by Akari.
