Maple Happenings
- see all dates
Enjoy maple-flavored fun every weekend from late February through the end of March. The farm offers demonstrations of maple sugaring in the Sugar Shack, maple-centered strolls of the grounds, and Maple Breakfasts (March only), plus family maple syruping workshops each Saturday and Sunday.
Appleton's syruping workshops are hands-on experiences of the entire process, beginning with tapping a tree, and ending with a story - and a sample. Yum! The strolls are held twice each Saturday and Sunday and provide the opportunity for families to learn some of the history and science behind the process. Sugaring presentations, where participants can see how trees are tapped and sap is collected and turned into syrup, take place throughout the afternoon.
Maple breakfast is available starting the first weekend in March. The farm's culinary program offers breakfast items for purchase made with or served with their own maple syrup served to-go for picnic-style dining.
Sugaring presentations are free, but tickets for workshops must be purchased separately. Space is limited for some programming, and pre-registration through the farm's events pages is available.
