Backyard Wildlife: Bat Conservation
Get to know the bat species that call Westchester home, their roles in our local ecosystems, and how to live alongside these fabulous creatures. Program includes information on the unique challenges North American bats are facing and how to select and install bat boxes.
This program takes place over Zoom. Participants will receive the access instructions upon registering.
Presenter Wendy Bosco is a researcher and graduate student with the University of Miami (OH), where she is pursuing a master’s in biology in cooperation with the Wildlife Conservation Society through Project Dragonfly. Her current research focuses on local bat species, evaluating and creating bat habitats (including bat boxes), and fostering community awareness through bat conservation education. Wendy holds a BS in Biology from the University at Buffalo, an MS in Secondary Science Education from the University of Bridgeport, and is happy to call White Plains, NY, home.
