Happy Birthday, Marion (Virtual)
Every year Santa Monica's Annenberg Beach House throws a party for the late Marion Davies—actress, philanthropist, famed party hostess, and mistress of media tycoon William Randolph Hearst—in honor of her birthday. In 2021, this event is held virtually.
Celebrants can kick-off the celebration by making Marion’s Sunset at the Beach mocktail. Virtual guests are treated to tales and tidbits about Marion and her circle with Santa Monica Conservancy docents, and get a glimpse into Marion’s Ziegfeld Follies days.
Partygoers can dance like no one is watching as they cut a rug doing the uptown lowdown in the privacy of their home with music of the 20s and 30s with songstress Janet Klein & Her Parlor Boys, and pianist Frederick Hodges.
This one-hour event is held free on Zoom. Register to participate. Registrants receive an event zoom link and the recipe for Marion’s Sunset at the Beach mocktail. Registration closes Saturday, January 30 at 3pm Pacific
3pm Pacific, 5pm Central, 6pm Eastern
