This year's Mermaid Parade is slipping on a new costume this year, morphing into a virtual Tail-A-Thon, to raise money for six very worthy causes, and fans can watch some great merMADE-in-the-USA (aka Brooklyn) videos, both live and pre-taped.

The Parade is about people showing off their creativity, celebrating summer, having fun and COMING TOGETHER. Even if we have to do it from a distance, online. Major plus: you have the best seat in the viewing stand this year.

Word is that the Tail-a-thon may run for up to 8 hours, depending on material gathered, and will feature the usual Parade MCs, special guests, pre-recorded content and more surprises.
