Bike Lincoln's Commute

Sat Aug 8, 2020
8:30am ET
Age: 8 and up
Price: $45
Location:
President Lincoln's Cottage

During the summers of his presidency, Lincoln and his family lived in a Cottage on a green hillside in Northwest Washington. The Soldier’s Home offered a “healthier” climate three miles north of the White House (and well outside the city at that time). Bike enthusiasts are invited to recreate Abe's 3-mile commute to the city to support maintenance of the Cottage.

The day will start at 8:30 am with an introduction at President Lincoln's Cottage (140 Rock Creek Church Rd), followed by a guided cycling tour, retracing Lincoln’s commute. The tour will stop at places of note for bits of history.
