Juneteenth 2020: Stay Black and Live
Juneteenth 2020: Stay Black and Live is a virtual Juneteenth festival based in Austin, Texas. A collaboration of Black organizations in Austin’s historic East side, the celebration emphasizes the themes of freedom and perseverance, as well as the unprecedented times we’re currently living through.
Stay Black and Live is being streamed across multiple online platforms (Facebook, Instagram, Twitch, and on the Juneteenth website).
City Council Member Natasha Harper-Madison kicks off the festivities with a welcome message. NOOK then introduces Freedom Desk, the music and spoken word performance series that features artists from the Austin/Travis County area. The lineup has the day's schedule.
6pm - 10 pm Central (7pm - 11pm Eastern, 4pm - 8pm Pacific)
Guests can register for this event on Eventbrite.
For those in the Austin area: before the online program starts, the 10,000 Fearless First Responders are distributing free plates to the communities most in need on the East side.
