The 22nd Annual Blessing of the Bikes
In recognition of the ongoing coronavirus epidemic, the Cathedral of St. John the Divine will hold its 22nd Annual Blessing of the Bicycles ceremony online this year, with a special focus on bicycle messengers and delivery people and the essential role they play in supporting New York City
This year’s online ceremony, open to all, will be led by The Reverend Patrick Malloy, Sub-Dean of the Cathedral, who will offer a blessing for the safety of all cyclists, particularly the delivery people and messengers whose labor is essential to the functioning of New York City.
Bikers and their friends are encouraged to send photos and messages to the Cathedral if they’d like them to be included in the online blessing.
