New Jersey Makers Day- CANCELED
The New Jersey State Museum is a proud participating site for New Jersey Makers Day. At 2 pm, learn about the history and craft of carving wooden duck decoys, like those on display in Fine Feathered Friends.
Experts in decoys, Allen Linkchorst and Bill Ethington will delve into how makers in New Jersey’s coastal and river towns shaped the artistry and style of these hunting tools.
Maybe you’re curious about a Cricut cutting machine, mesmerized by mobiles, a sculptor or a genius with re-imagining recycled materials. There will be projects to suit everyone’s inner maker.
Get Inspired! NJSM’s art and history galleries are full of creations by New Jersey makers. From a clock mechanism engineered by Peter Hill, the first African American clockmaker, to artist Wanda Gag’s languid kitten, you’ll find New Jersey makers making waves.
