Storytime with Ruth Spiro - "Made by Maxine"
57th Street Books hosts author Ruth Spiro, who will be reading and signing her latest picture book, "Made by Maxine."
From the host:
About the book: Meet Maxine, and inspiring young maker who wants to make the world a better place, one crazy contraption at a time. Maxine knows that with enough effort and imagination (and mistakes), it's possible to invent anything!
About the author: Ruth Spiro is the author of The Baby Loves Science board book series, published by Charlesbridge. Titles include Baby Loves Aerospace Engineering, Baby Loves Coding and Baby Loves Green Energy. Ruth’s new STEM-themed picture book series, Made by Maxine, is about an inspiring young Maker who knows that with enough effort, imagination and recyclables, it’s possible to invent anything. Made by Maxine is published by Dial. A frequent speaker at schools and conferences, Ruth’s recent presentations include the Early Childhood STEM Conference (CalTech), Los Angeles Times Festival of Books, Colorado Book & Arts Festival, Maker Faire Milwaukee, National Science Teachers Association, and The Chicago Tribune Printer’s Row Book Festival. Ruth hopes her books inspire kids to observe the world, ask questions, and when it comes to their futures, DREAM BIG!
