January Drop-In Play at SPARK
- see all dates
Join in the following drop-in art projects and play opportunities taking place each weekend in January in the studio. This month, honor the life and legacy of iconic civil rights leader Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and celebrate themes of diversity, equality, freedom, and resistance in conjunction with BCM’s I Have a Dream Celebration.
January Drop-In Play Art Projects:
Saturday, January 5 – Sunday, January 6
Winter Collage
Explore the cool colors of winter and use everyday materials to create a textured winter collage.
Saturday, January 12 – Sunday, January 13
Dream Weaving
Families reflect on Martin Luther King, Jr.’s legacy as they thread, wrap and weave together a variety of materials to create a dream catcher.
Saturday, January 19 – Sunday, January 20
I Have a Dream Clouds
Martin Luther King Jr. dreamed that one day his community and country would be free of racial injustice. Decorate a dream cloud for your family, community, and country. Hang up your cloud on our skyline to help create a Dr. King display at SPARK and watch your dreams soar.
Saturday, January 26 – Sunday, January 27
Snowflake Stamping
Celebrate winter with sparkly icy print with stamps, cookie cutters, and textured rollers.
