Wellesley Concert: Mixed Media Works Exploring the Idea of the Alien
Sat Nov 10, 2018
7:30pm to 9:00pm ET
Age: All ages
Price: Free
Location:
Houghton Chapel, Wellesley College
Three artists present an eclectic program of contemporary and mixed media works at Wellesley College inspired by the idea of the alien.
The program includes works by N. Adriana Knouf from the Wellesley Cinema and Media Studies Program, Jenny Olivia Johnson from the Wellesley Music Department and Diana Dabby of Olin College.
Knouf’s work will present recent sound artwork on radio and satellite transmissions beyond the boundaries of Earth's atmosphere, among other works. Johnson will present musical works that address how trauma can cause one to feel alienated from one’s own body. Dabby’s Parallel Lives — Distant Mirrors explores parallel universes in Iraq and the United States.
