Memorial Day in Prospect Park
Join Prospect Park Alliance this Memorial Day for family-friendly activities at the Prospect Park Audubon Center, Lefferts Historic House and the 1912 Carousel.
Pop-Up Lefferts: Field Days
Children’s Corner, 12–4 pm
Grab your picnic blankets and join Prospect Park Alliance for Field Day activities. Try your hand at bean bag toss, badminton and more all day at Pop-Up Lefferts in the Children’s Corner. Three will also be cards, dice and dominos on hand. While you’re here, make sure to play with the Plan Your Park game to see what neighborhood you come from by dropping a pin on a jumbo Brooklyn street map.
Nature Exploration
Prospect Park Audubon Center, 12–4 pm
Join Prospect Park Alliance for nature education programs at the Prospect Park Audubon Center, the first urban Audubon Center in the nation.
Discovery Pack, 12–3 pm: Come explore nature on your own with Discovery Packs, a backpack filled with nature activities and exploration tools, perfect for families and kids to interact with the park in a whole new way.
Animal Encounter, 2–3 pm: Join Alliance Naturalists in learning more about the animals in the Audubon Center’s collection. This program starts promptly at 2 pm. Animal Encounters is made possible with generous support from Macy’s, Inc.
Family Bird Walk, 3–4 pm: Prospect Park is a stopping point for hundreds of bird species each year. Join the search for these amazing creatures and other nature around the park. Binoculars and bird guides are provided. This program leaves promptly at 3 pm.
Carousel Rides, 12–5 pm
Children’s Corner, $2.50 per ride, $11.50 for a book of 5 tickets, Free with Prospect Park Alliance Family Supporter membership or higher.
Celebrate Memorial Day with the park’s beloved Carousel. Join the Alliance at the Family Supporter level and your family (up to 4 people) will receive unlimited rides on the Carousel for a full year.
