Bring your mom to this vastly under-appreciated natural habitat offering all the best wild foods of the seashore, and this tour, held in conjunction with The Rockaway Waterfront Alliance. The sandy soil here is poor, limiting tree- and grass growth, but it benefits other species that can take advantage of the unblocked sun and nutrient-poor soil. 

Wild greens will abound here and there are dozens of species that thrive in sunny fields in mid-spring. "Wildman” will instruct participants how to prepare them properly. 

This 2.5 hour tour is FREE but advance registration is required.
