Sat Jun 22, 2019
2:00pm to 6:00pm ET
Age: All
Price: $20
Location:
Makerspace NYC, Brooklyn Navy Yard

Learn and see how the Harriet Tubman stamp is made by assembling a 3D printed handle and laser cut stamp to take home. Bring a $20 bill to stamp and keep. There will also be a short performance of the show "Harriet Tubman Herself" by Christine Dixon.

This event is for all ages.  Children must be accompanied by an adult. Up to four (4) members of a family may attend per ticket. Each group of 4 will make one stamp. Additional stamps can be purchased for $20 each.

Afterwards, meet Dano Wall, the artist who came up with the idea for the Harriet Tubman stamp in order to express his disappointment over the decision of the Treasury Secretary that Harriet Tubman's image would not make it on to the $20 bill until 2028.
