Legendary author and five-time Coretta Scott King Award-winner Sharon Draper celebrates the 50th anniversary of the landmark book award that honors “outstanding African American authors and illustrators of books for children and young adults that demonstrate an appreciation of African American culture and universal human values.”
Draper talks about her incredible career as a writer and the impact the Award has had on her. She also leads a short writing exercise with attendees, answer audience questions, and sign books..
