Sensory Friendly Holiday Concert with Lloyd H. Miller & Friends
Lloyd H. Miller, founder and front man of the Deedle Deedle Dees and frequent Jalopy performer for kids and adults, leads this highly interactive and sensory-friendly holiday concert.
The show will feature much-loved Christmas and Hanukkah songs plus other crowd favorites from Lloyd's weekly sing-a-longs and classes all over Brooklyn. The space will be made super cozy for the event with soft mats on the floor plus bean bags and pillows for propping up children with core strength issues and for just general comfy reclining. The band, featuring an all-star group of Lloyd's regular collaborators on saxophone, upright bass, and guitar, will play mostly acoustic, mindful of volume levels. Pre-show we will open the house a half an hour early so kids can find and familiarize themselves with their audience spots. Manipulatives -- hand-held instruments and various fun squishy things -- will be available . Visual cues on stage will prepare the audience for each new song. The perfect holiday show for children with disabilities -- and for everyone.
