Drop-in Myth Makers and Novel Narrations - Illustration Workshop with Thaddeus Coates
Illustrator Thaddeus Coates leads a character design workshop and a presentation designed to encourage and uplift. With a focus on black cartoon characters, kids learn about their contribution to their shows and why representation matters.

Wearable Stories with Basil El Halwagy
Design a costume using symbols and patterns that are special to you and learn about costumes out of foam, fabric paint, and other materials. Egyptian-American artist Basil El Halwagy makes unique costumed characters, similar to cos-play, using the patterns he grew up with in Egypt. Funding for this program is provided by the Building Bridges Program of the Doris Duke Charitable Foundation for Islamic Art.

Drag Queen Story Hour featuring Robyn
Through a fun and fabulous literary experience, Drag Queen Story Hour teaches kids about gender diversity and difference, building empathy and promoting tolerance. During this event, Harlem's own drag Princess Robyn reads books, sings songs and leads kids in a craft activity.
