The Weatherford Hotel’s 22nd Annual Great Pinecone Drop
The Great Pinecone Drop is Flagstaff’s New Year’s Eve tradition. Most years, thousands gather in the streets for the countdown into the New Year and the lowering of the Pinecone, followed by a brief fireworks display.
This year, the tradition has adapted with the times, and in 2020 the Pinecone Drop occurs virtually only.
Note: Flagstaff is on Mountain time. That means midnight there is 11pm Pacific, 1am Central and 2am Eastern. Look for countdown festivities to begin about an hour before midnight.
