The Great Big Jewish Food Fest is a 10-day, virtual food festival celebrating Jewish cuisine across America.
Gail Simmons, Ruth Reichl, Adeena Sussman, Mike Solomonov and Joan Nathan are among the confirmed hosts.
The Jewish Food Festival is completely free, offering a variety of intimate, dynamic programs including workshops & conversations, happy hours, and Shabbat dinners, which take place over Zoom, Instagram, and Facebook.There is also a library of unique Anytime Content that can be experienced during the festival.
The schedule offers a complete listing of all events. Among the programming that may be of interest to families:
- May 22: Family Kitchen: Creating Your Own Crazy Challah Creations with Shannon Sarna (11:30am Eastern, 10:30am Central, 8:30am Pacific)
- May 24: Great Big Film Series: Q&A with Creators of Abe, a film about an Israeli-Jewish/Palestinian-Muslim boy trying to unite the two sides of his heritage through food. (5:30pm Eastern, 4:30pm Central, 2:30pm Pacific)
- May 25: Foodles: author/cartoonist Alan Silberberg leads a hands-on demo of how to transform favorite Jewish foods into fun doodles. (11am Eastern, 10am Central, 8am Pacific)
- May 28: Harvest Blessings: A Playful Storytime for Young Children with Amy Meltzer (11am Eastern, 10am Central, 8am Pacific)
