Scrappy Cooking: Low-Waste Food Activities with Culikid & Rethink
Interested in reducing food waste in your own kitchen? Culikid and Rethink will demo several activities and recipes you can do at home to repurpose food scraps including fruit-infused water, regrowing lettuce and scallions, and banana bread pudding.
An ingredient and supply list will be sent to registrants two weeks prior to the event so participants can cook along. While this virtual class will be paced to be accessible for a child with special needs, it is open to everyone.
This class will require the use of the stove at the end as well as minimal use of a knife to prep produce for regrowing, which we recommend adult supervision for. If your child needs help following verbal directions, staying on task, self-initiating, or using a measuring cup and spoon, they will need additional supervision throughout.
Register once per household (not for each individual). Once you register, you will be sent the Zoom meeting link.
