Explore food manufacturing at the Yard with live demos, tours, and healthy food tastings for all.

The Yard is home to several food manufacturing businesses, including one of the city’s largest rooftop soil farms, the newest location of Russ & Daughters, and the roasting facilities for Brooklyn Roasting Company.

Join this afternoon learning more about these businesses with a special focus on healthy and sustainable living and eating practices. Designed for families with children ages 5 – 12, activities will include the opportunity to visit the Brooklyn Grange, a station devoted to learning about herbs and other healthy ways to flavor food, cooking demos with recipes for easy and affordable dishes that parents can make with children, and more.
