First Saturdays for Families: Composite Capacities for Love
Help create a collaborative mural inspired by Diedrick Brackens: darling divined, on view at the New Museum through September 15.
Brackens produces his large-scale textiles by weaving cotton fiber dyed with colorants like bleach and tea. His murals often depict silhouettes of figures in sensitive poses, gestures, and relationships. Families are invited to add their own silhouettes to a large-scale canvas, creating a communal mural while contemplating how we express different forms of care and love.
New Museum First Saturdays for Families are free of charge. This program is designed and recommended for families with children between the ages of four and twelve years, and includes free New Museum admission for up to two adults per family. Children under eighteen are always admitted free.
No preregistration is required. Space is limited, and tickets are given out on a first-come, first-served basis. Your entire party must be present; tickets will not be given to partial parties.
