Coding, Game Design and Game Testing with Blinks
Blinks can be utilized for educational play without programming, however, the potential for classroom creativity expands greatly by giving students the creative freedom to develop their own games. Blinks give students a truly hands-on approach to computational thinking with playful outcomes. In this workshop, learn about the origins of Blinks, play example games created for Blinks, and get an intro to the game developer kit (i.e. learn how to make a Blink blink).
MIT spinoff, Move38, is a game company that builds tools for creativity. Move38 invented Blinks, an open-source platform for smart tabletop games. Each Blink is a programmable and physical game piece and can be programmed using the popular Arduino IDE.
Blinks Developer kits will be provided. Participant should have access to a computer with the Arduino IDE pre-installed.
