Living History coordinator Cheyney McKnight prepares a Juneteenth feast over a period-correct fire pit. Learn how to make Marcus Garvey salad, barbecue ribs, strawberry pie, and more with kid-friendly recipes.

Ingredients for Ms. Cheyney's Marcus Garvey Bean Salad
1 can kidney beans (15 oz)
1 can black beans (15 oz)
½ to 1 lb fresh green beans trimmed
1 medium red onion diced
3-4 celery stalks diced
1 red bell pepper diced
¼ cup parsley chopped
2 to 3 cloves garlic minced
⅓ cup apple cider vinegar
¼ cup of olive oil
3 tablespoons sugar
Salt
