Indigenous Peoples' Day: Native Innovations
earn about Native scientific discoveries and inventions that affect our daily lives. From foods and medicines to the engineering principles of bridge building, learn about the remarkable contributions from Native people throughout the Western Hemisphere in a fun and interactive space. Stop by our classroom for art making inspired by Taíno sun designs and share your reflection and recognition of Indigenous Peoples Day.

Join Jorge Estévez (Taíno) for cassava and hammock-making demonstrations as he addresses common questions and myths associated with Columbus Day.

In this live-action puppet film, a grandmother talks with her granddaughter about their Taíno heritage in post-Hurricane Maria Puerto Rico. A discussion with director Alba Enid Garcia follows each screening.
