Rodale Autumn Arts and Science Fair
Rodale's Arts and Science Fair offers workshops, an information booth and activities designed to be in harmony with REduce, REuse, REcycle, REthink & REimagine. Learn about preserving food, have a soil sample tested for heavy metals, analyze soil, bugs and plants under a microscope and take part in fun arts and craft activities.
Workshop: 12pm - 2pm | Make Your Groceries Go Further
Learn ways to preserve food, including pickling them. You can take home what you make!
Ongoing Activities: 12pm -3pm | FREE Soil Testing
City soils can sometimes carry toxic metals like lead. Learn how to test for heavy metals in soil and keep our community safe from contamination! Bring a sample from your garden or green space to learn the status of your soils. Learn how compost can be used to amend your soil.
Citizen Scientists- Use LED microscopes to explore samples of bugs, soil, water, plant material, and MORE!
Arts & Crafts - Decorate fabric using a simple tie dye /eco printing method, decorate glass using pressed flowers, rock painting, and MORE. ** While Supplies Last*
Do the Rot Thing - Learn the basics of composting. Mandatory curbside composting is coming to Manhattan, the Bronx and Staten Island on October 6, 2024.
