The Yard, NYC’s only adventure playground located on Governors Island, opens to the public this weekend with COVID safety protocols in place. 

  • The Yard will be open from 12pm-4pm on weekends.
  • NO MORE THAN 35 kids at a time will be allowed in The Yard
  • Timed slots are available on a first-come, first-served basis at the gate
  • No children younger than 5 years old (sorry little ones!)
  • Masks are required
  • Parents are encouraged to complete an online waiver before arrival and present the confirmation code on their phones.
  • Kindness and patience are requested.

Parents are not allowed in The Yard. With the exception of the playworkers and the parents of kids with special needs, the adult-free space allows children to move freely on the site.
