Open Studios: A Perfect Party for Trees
- see all dates
Trusty Sidekick Theater Company presents an interactive outdoor performance, developed specifically for youth on the autism spectrum, that invites their audience to travel through nature to help build the perfect birthday party for the trees.
Guests are welcome to try multi-sensory activities, participatory puppetry, and collective live music in a celebration of nature. Guided friends—The Beekeeper, The Bear, and Ms. Branch—create a gentle and playful space where audience members can dig like a badger, sing like a bird, and sit quietly like a tree to become a part of the forest itself.
Each performance runs about 45-60 minutes long and includes original music, puppetry, and actors in a roving performance that covers Pier 6’s lawns (from the Pier 6 entrance to Liberty Lawn).
RSVP is required as capacity will be highly limited to ensure an accessible and interactive engagement for children and their caregivers. Walkups will be accommodated as space allows.
