Hudson River Park's Pumpkin Smash
Sat Nov 2, 2024
11:00am to 2:00pm ET
Age: All ages
Price: Free
Location:
Pier 84, Hudson River Park
Bring your jack-o'-lantern or uncarved pumpkin to Hudson River Park's Pier 84 to squash, smash, and smush it into compost to help keep the park beautiful, green, and growing. The fun-packed afternoon includes free face painting from Silly Cheeks and circus entertainment by Bindlestiff performers.
Pumpkin Smash provides a way for pumpkins to be broken down and repurposed into compost by Hudson River Park’s team. You’ll get 15 minutes of smashing fun and your choice of a bat, hammer, or shovel to break up your gourd into the smallest pieces you can.
Stick around after to learn from the HRPK team how composting works at the Park and enjoy the beautiful pier.
