Celebrate planet Earth and explore the mysteries of the sky, sea, and soil through art-making, natural science exploration, STEM workshops, and interactive performances all week long.

Don't miss special screenings of the animated short film Here We Are: Notes for Living on Planet Earth, playing on repeat from 10:30am every day between April 10 through April 14. Screenings are free with the purchase of general admission tickets

Kids can also watch The Lorax, on April 8, A Bug's Life, on April 22, and WALL-E, on April 29-30.

REDUCE, REUSE, RECYCLE
Tuesday, April 11 and Wednesday, April 12 
Embrace eco-friendly practices with hands-on projects and performances that promote sustainability. Create inventive upcycled pieces at play:groundNYC‘s pop-up maker station, enjoy music performed on improvised and repurposed instruments by Kevin and Rich’s Recycled Sounds, and discover composting by constructing your own worm bin with Cues.
10:45 am & 4 pm – Digging Into Decomposers (Wednesday only)
11:30 am & 2:15 pm – Make a Compost Worm Bin with Cues
12 pm & 3 pm – Live Music by Recycled Sounds
Pop-up maker space, ColorLab workshops, and showings of Here We Are: Notes for Living on Planet Earth take place throughout the day.

URBAN FARMING
Thursday, April 13 and Friday, April 14
Dive into the world of urban agriculture and explore the beauty of nature in the city. Join the Brooklyn Botanic Garden to plant seeds and learn about soil, explore the integration of chickens in gardens with NYC Park Rangers, and learn about bees and pollinators with Friends of Brower Park. Plus, create leaf and flower-inspired artwork guided by artist Aimee Sicuro, and sing along to climate justice melodies with the musical trio Ants on a Log.

Uncover the elegance of the cosmos, Earth’s ecosystems, and geometric structures in this awe-inspiring series. Explore the wonders of space in Mélissa Smith‘s interactive Blast Off program, learn about the layers of Earth’s Critical Zone while making your own miniature ecosystem in a jar, and team up with artist Dick Esterle to contribute to an evolving sculpture based on simple geometric shapes.
