Online Class: Essential Guide to Capturing the Human Face + Anatomy for Teens
- see all dates
In this online class, teens get the essential tools they need to capture the human face and body, incorporating drawing and painting. Teens can work from their own imagery of people or figures that interest them or your instructor will provide.
Teens learn how to sketch the human face and body through composition and choose dynamic poses; looking at 3/4 views and non-traditional and unusual angles or action poses. After these drawing exercises, participants will move on to preparing to paint a fully realized portrait on canvas. Learn how to give subjects a realistic feel, how to set your subject in the right setting, and how to employ light, to make tonal, emotional, and mood changes. Think about background and perspective to really give portraits that unique flavor.
Students will be taught the basics of color mixing, and how to capture textures like hair, eyes, and skin with different brush applications + techniques. How to capture realistic surfaces and textures for clothing, drapery, jewelry, glasses etc. This an excellent class and skill for emerging teen artists who are working on portfolios or who are dreaming about a career in the visual arts.
