Modern Art for Kids: Get to Know Famous Artists

- see all dates
Except October 9, 2023.
The work of famous artists is the focus in this painting class, and children get an inside view into some amazing modern artists who have come and gone and left their indelible mark on popular culture.
Children will be given a brief background, with a bit of art history thrown in and an overview into the lifework of unique artists, for example (but not limited to): Frida Kahlo, Basquiat, Keith Haring, Rothko, Warhol, and Van Gogh.
Participants take a look at some truly amazing techniques these artists used and get to experiment with them and incorporate them into their own pieces. Each week, participants will look at a different artist and complete a painting using particular applications, techniques, and styles.
Mondays 3:00pm-4:30pm
