Jazz at Lincoln Center's WeBop Live Virtual Classes
WeBop is Jazz at Lincoln Center’s award-winning, early-childhood jazz education program for little ones from ages eight months to seven years and their parents/caregivers. WeBop strongly believes in children’s natural ability to improvise, and the teachers are committed to exploring their creativity through fun interactive classes.
Virtual interactive WeBop classes offer:
-
45-minute live interactive classes delivered weekly.
-
A curriculum that combines early-childhood development practices and jazz pedagogy to provide musically authentic experiences.
-
Weekly classes led by a WeBop teacher, supported by an accompanist on the piano. Additional guest jazz musicians visit twice per term.
-
Swingin' renditions of your favorite nursery songs.
-
Intimate class sizes limited to 10 families per session, allowing for direct interaction with the instructor and building a sense of community with fellow families.
-
Live and recorded music integrated into each class.
-
Specific music curriculum and engaging activities designed for each age group.
-
An opportunity for children and grownups to bond and express themselves together through movement, singing, clapping, and playing small percussion instruments.
-
Take-home materials delivered each week, reinforcing key concepts learned in your session and ways to continue the learning at home, as well as a “swing set” including audio and/or video of music played in class.
