Chrystie Street Ballet Academy
Chrystie Street Ballet Academy (CSBA) has been a staple for families in Lower Manhattan since its foundation in 2006 at its original Chrystie Street location. CSBA now holds after-school and weekend ballet classes for children and teens ages 3 years and up at two convenient locations in the FIDI/TRIBECA and NOHO/NYU neighborhoods. Enrollment is by the semester, and a performance is held showcasing student progress at the end of the school year. Trial classes are available for all new students.
Since its incepton, CSBA has prided itself on providing professional and engaging ballet instruction that is warm, accessible, and inclusive. The dedicated teaching staff follows a structured syllabus that is systematically designed to develop a solid foundation in classical ballet technique from the Pre-Ballet level through Ballet 5. Classical ballet vocabulary, musicality, and coordination are developed through age-appropriate exercises that emphasize proper alignment and placement. CSBA maintains small class sizes so that each child can meet their full potential.
CSBA is proud to have many of its dancers accepted into such programs as SAB, Joffrey, ABT, Alvin Ailey, La Guardia HS, Frank Sinatra HS, and others. CSBA dancers were also recently featured in a Sesame Street episode, "D is for Dance!"
