Bloomingdale School of Music
Now celebrating 60 years of serving generations of Manhattan families. Since 1964, the mission of Bloomingdale School of Music has been to provide access to high-quality music education to all who seek it. From early childhood to adulthood, music lessons and classes are available for all ages and ability levels on over 20 instruments.
Bloomingdale makes music education affordable through financial aid and scholarships, payment plans, and frequent discounts. The school also brings people together with free events and concerts throughout the year where all students have the opportunity to perform to an audience open to the whole community.
Bloomingdale classes aim to educate students and instill a sense of passion and fun for self-expression through music. The school offers private lessons and classes 7 days a week taught by an expert-vetted faculty of professional musicians. Multiple genres from classical and jazz, to Broadway and pop music, are available. Private lessons at Bloomingdale offer individual attention, customization and a personalized curriculum. Students and teachers are strategically matched based on teaching style, experience, and schedules. These lessons can be transformative for students as they discover their unique talents and interests. Other options include beginner group classes, string orchestras, vocal ensembles, guitar orchestras, jazz ensembles, music theory classes, and a comprehensive college prep program. Most classes and lessons take place weekdays after school and on weekends. Enrollment is ongoing.
