Extra Bases Baseball + STEM

Extra Bases is a unique learn-and-play summer baseball camp with a focus on skill development and STEM enrichment. Your camper will learn the dimensions of the baseball diamond, the most efficient way to run the bases, how to calculate averages, and why the rotation of a baseball is so importantall while chasing baseballs around in the summer sun.

Camps are a week long and designed to engage your child physically and mentally through hitting, fielding, baserunning, and throwing drills, while instilling a deeper understanding of the math and science that underpin the sport.

A typical day at camp starts with a warm-up and a drill focused on one of the four highlighted baseball skills. After each drill, campers record their results (i.e., how many times they threw the baseball into the target area). The data collected then serves as the basis for a math lesson (like calculating an average). After lunch and recess, campers regroup for team-building drills and a scrimmage in the afternoon.
