Sharron Miller’s Academy for the Performing Arts (SMAPA) invites the public to its annual, family-friendly, dance concert. Performance Workshop Ensemble is a scholarship program for ages 12-18 designed to give aspiring dancers the opportunity and resources to gain pre-professional training and performance experience.

They perform original works by Carolyn Dorfman, Christopher Huggins, and others, as well as Sharron Miller's "Praise," a jubilant, perennial favorite that never fails to uplift the soul. At the concert, Ms. Miller also announces the 2024 recipient of the Joyce Copeland Scholarship, providing a full year of dance training to the most deserving young student of color. 

Tickets are $15 for children and senior citizens, $25 for other adults. Your ticket purchase helps cover the cost of the concert, while also helping SMAPA to continue offering scholarships to deserving young dancers and bringing arts education to thousands of N.J. young people, primarily children of color, in Paterson and Newark schools.
