Come learn alongside your child about the fascinating world of mammals and how these creatures adapt to survive the challenging winter season. Discover the variety, behavior, and resiliency of the mammals that inhabit the reserve.
Winter is a great time to observe mammals. The vegetation has lost its foliage, revealing the secrets of resident mammals who leave behind tracks, trails, and other signs more easily discovered.
Watershed Educators Vicky Allen and Yesenia Feliciano will teach participants outside in the living laboratory of the 950-acre Watershed Reserve. Each class will offer hands-on activities, a hike, and take-home activities to reinforce the topics covered in the class. Students are grouped together by ages 6-9 and ages 10-12 for age-appropriate explorations of the material.
Dress for the weather of the day. Masks, social distancing, and adult attendance are required. Discount available for members.
