The Los Angeles-based Pacifico Dance Company offers a unique blend of modern and traditional dance.
Founder and artistic director Adriana Astorga-Gainey and the group’s 40 accomplished dancers and musicians weave together elements of modern dance, ballet, and native dances of Mexico as part of their mission to educate culturally diverse communities and foster an understanding, appreciation, and acceptance of ethnic diversity.
Please be advised: The piece Mujeres de mi Tierra takes inspiration from the female warriors of the Mexican Revolution and uses theatrical elements including prop weaponry and loud gunfire sound effects.
