A Wrinkle in Time (Accommodative Screening)
"Do you realize how many events and choices that had to occur since the birth of the universe, leading to the making of you just exactly the way you are?"
Families are invited to watch A Wrinkle in Time just exactly the way they are, at an accommodative matinee screening at the Academy Museum.
About the film: Director Ava DuVernay took a dramatic turn from the serious subject matter of her acclaimed films Selma (2014) and 13th (2016) with this visually imaginative adaptation of Madeleine L’Engle’s perennially popular, Newbery Medal-winning fantasy novel, originally published in 1962. Storm Reid plays Meg Murry, a 13-year-old girl who sets off on a fantastical journey to find her missing father, with the help of three astral beings portrayed by Oprah Winfrey, Reese Witherspoon, and Mindy Kaling.
A Wrinkle in Time has a runtime of 109 minutes. The film is rated PG and is suggested for ages 10 and up.
On the last Saturday of every month, the museum's Family Matinee is an accommodative screening where we offer open captioning, keep the theater dimly lit, and maintain a lower volume specifically for neurodivergent viewers.
