HAWKs: Hiking Adventures With Kids
HAWKs’ primarily outdoor day camps are designed to encourage children’s sense of wonder about the planet, familiarize them with local plants and animals, teach them the fundamentals of hiking, trail safety, LNT (Leave No Trace) and most of all, help instill a deep sense of connection to the outdoors.
The HAWKs program is led by experienced educators and trained naturalists. Adventurers (our students) connect to the natural world in a way that helps them feel comfortable, and always have fun
Activities vary by day, environment and group interest, but include hiking, herping, bird watching, journaling, nature crafts (dream catchers, mandalas, seed bombs, insect hotels), nature-focused games, foraging, and more!
Locations include drop off points at Clover Park in Santa Monica, Pan Pacific Park in Fairfax Dsitrict, Garfield Park in South Pasadena, George Izay Park in Burbank/Glendale and drop off in the field in Northeast LA!
