The Sweetbriar Nature Center hosts its Discovery Days, where kids can spend a day or the entire winter break exploring the grounds with different themes explored each day.
Each day is filled with fun hands-on activities, interaction with resident animals, non-releasable wildlife, crafts, games, and more.
Themes:
- Monday, February 19: Welcome Wildlife - Learn all about what Sweetbriar is all about as you are welcomed by our animal friends that call here home
- Tuesday, February 20: Clever Creatures - Discover what makes creatures big and small unique.
- Wednesday, February 21: Mother Nature’s Mystery - Explore the outdoors while working together to solve Mother Nature’s mystery
- Thursday, February 22: Resourceful Raptors and Reptiles - How does a bird fly? How does a turtle stay warm? Answer these and more as we investigate feathery and scaly friends
- Friday, February 23: Fantastically Frozen - What do animals do in the winter when there is ice and snow all around? Learn all about some of Sweetbriars animal ambassadors and some local animals and what they do to survive the winter.
